It's been a while since I've been fishing, but I used to catch 3-5 pound bass quite regularly on the lakes around Detroit Lakes Minnesota...I'd recommend using a Hula Popper, but thats just me

Cool. I've fished around Detroit Lakes a little bit. I've started Deer Hunting around there during Rifle too. It's an awesome area.

Yeah....I love being able to just go out onto a small lake and go wakeboarding and fishing, and whatever else during the summer. Get done with work, head out to the lakes. I absolutely love it.

Yeah, it's nice to have fishing holes where the access is limited. Have buddies that own land on river banks and it makes the fishing that much better when you know there won't be a hundred other people competing for spots.

Have a few places on the river nearby that are awesome for catfishin in the summer. Got hooked on that a couple years ago. What a blast. They fight like hell, and don't taste too bad early and late in the year.

You know it!!!! Gonna spend alot more time on the Minnesota this year, I hope. We'll rip it up. I'm thinking 30-40 pounders on a regular basis. Don't have to worry, there will be plenty of Coors to go around...

I've had catfish when I was in the southern states (rattlesnake too) and for an overglorified suckerfish it really is good eatin's! Never fished for them though. Same story with Marlin when I was in Florida. I was born with a .308 in one hand and a graphite composite rod in the other. The only time I feel at peace is when I'm in the middle of a lake or the bush! Muskie's my prey of choice though.

I have never fished muskies. But I think that I should try it one of these days! I heard that the experience is just awesome when you have a hugh hog grab your line at the edge of the boat!!

I've actually never caught a catfish, have tried before, but gave up. I don't know if it's because I havn't found any good spots around here or I if I just don't have the patience.

I have caught a steelhead, a lot of trout (of various types) and 2 catfish. The catfish are ugly fellows, but they are good eatin'.

I haven't been fishing since I was a teenager... in CA you have to have a fishing license after the age of 16 I believe, so I quit fishing and never got a license.
